First Presbyterian congregations are found in towns and city centres all over the world. Our church in Comber, Co. Down is very easy to find as it sits on the crown of the hill which is High Street; one of the four main roads that radiate from the town square. The Christian faith reached this area of Ireland over 1500 years ago. Our congregation was established more recently, in 1645, and our current membership is around 550 families. The congregation consists of a great variety of families, careers and ages. Comber town, situated just 30 minutes from Belfast city centre, has grown rapidly in recent decades. People who have come to settle in Comber have been welcomed into the membership of the congregation. Should you decide to pay us a visit, your also will be very welcome; whether you are a new resident or just a tourist passing through this picturesque area. The church has three main doors so you'll have no difficulty finding you way inside! Our Church has midweek activities for all ages, abilities and interests. We try hard to make families with children feel particularly welcome. Though we have a long history, our emphasis is to make the Gospel of Jesus relevant for daily living in the 21st Century with all its challenges. To live as a Christian must surely include a smile on your face, Jesus brings joy. We have some to share with you; if you will pay us a visit. Apart from leisure, sports and drama organisations, you would also be most welcome at our Alpha groups where we discuss the basic facts and issues relating to the Christian faith. Beginners are particularly welcome. Please click on to other pages for more information. Thank you for visiting our website God bless you, Wilson Gordon.
